Top 06 Image | Is it lonely without Kristy in that picture? No, not really…because Archuleta is still in it! So, as most of you may know, next week’s theme will be mentored by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Most of you may know him as the creator of such big musicals including Cats and Phantom of the Opera. Blah blah blah…so the week will most likely be limited (once again) to songs created in the musicals of this highly praised man; I like Mariah better. Now the next question, what in the world is David going to sing? Who the f*** knows…I don’t even think David knows…we’ll all survive.

Now on to the second part…remember this?

He cornered David’s biggest competition, Tiffany Evans, in the green room and intimidated her, telling her she’d lose to David. No one knew about it because Tiffany didn’t tell anyone at that time. It wasn’t until later that night, when Jeff Archuleta started calling all night and harassing her in her room that Tiffany and her parents told producers. It became so intense that the producers of Star Search had a meeting and BANNED him from the lot.

jeff archuletaWell…Tiffany Evans just recently told USmagazine.com, “I don’t recall being around his father at all, I’ve heard some things about him, but I was 10 years old, I didn’t really pay attention.” So now who will you believe, gossip websites or a 15 year old friend of David’s that was actually there when “the incident” happened.

JEFF ROCKS!

Seemingly all of Utah and half of America is rooting for David Archuleta to be the next “American Idol.” But one of the Murray teen’s best friends wouldn’t be completely heartbroken if he’s not. “I miss him a lot, so it’s OK with me if he comes home,” Jessica Judd said, with a laugh.

The signs of how big a deal this is are all over Murray High — literally. Not only is the school Archuleta attends plastered with posters, but they’re selling “I voted for David Archuleta” T-shirts.

And the media have descended on the school to find out what the “Idol” favorite is really like.

(One friend, Mietra Aarabi — the girl who looked so uncomfortable on camera when “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest was teasing Archuleta about the upcoming Murray High prom — said she’s signed an agreement with Fox that prevents her from giving interviews.)

“He’s exactly the way he seems on TV. He’s sort of shy,” said one friend who asked that her name not be used. “But then everyone is surprised the first time they hear him sing.”

Archuleta’s friends use words like “sweet,” “genuine” and “humble” repeatedly — something that comes across on TV but seems too good to be true to some viewers.

Greetings and Good Day, Archuleta fans!

Tonight is an incredibly important night.  We are about to join forces and battle

in the quest of David Archuleta’s American Idol Victory.

I wanted to remind each and every one of you how crucial it is for you to put all

of your efforts into voting for him tonight, so I’m reposting this entry that I wrote

a few weeks ago which I feel is even MORE important now than it was then.  So here

goes:

……………………I recently stumbled across something rather disconcerting, something that I’ve seen happen many times in American Idol history, something that many “front-runners” from seasons past have fallen victim to….I’m talking about voter complacency.

Here’s the link:

http://davidarchuletafans.wordpress.com/2008/03/19/fan-drop-off-can-mean-a-long-and-winding-road-for-david-archuleta/

Go ahead and read it….I’ll wait.

Okay, I’m going to throw out a few names. See if you remember them….Tamyra Gray. Jennifer Hudson. LaToya London. Constantine Maroulis. Chris Daughtry. Melinda Doolittle.

What do all of these seemingly random people have in common?

A few things actually:

1. They were contestants on American Idol.

2. They all had killer voices and performance skills.

3. During their respective journeys on the show, each person listed above had at least two or three knock-out performances that seemed to solidify (at least in the eyes of the judges) their status as front-runners.

4. All 6 of these “front-runner” contestants didn’t even make it to the final 2!!!! They were inexplicably ousted from the competition well before their time!!!!

Why did such travesties occur? Did they suddenly bomb on their performances? Did they not sing the right pitches? Did they forget the words? Did they choose the wrong song? Did they wear their hair the wrong way or dress themselves poorly? What factors led to their premature dismissal?

The truth of the matter, folks, is that NONE of these factored into their ejections. Each one of those contestants did what he or she had to do to continue in the competition, and I’m going to be perfectly honest - even blunt -and blame it on the voting public, the fans.

As the above article details, voters become rather complacent when their favored contestant performs consistently well on a weekly basis. Fans who reach the point of complacency feel as if the exertion of voting non-stop for the contestant is rather unnecessary because, as they see it, “He’s got this competition in the bag.”

I cannot even begin to tell those fans how faulty is their line of thinking.

I can only speak for myself here…but when I vote for my favored contestant, regardless of how well or how poorly he or she performed, my phone is in my hand, it is set to redial, I begin voting at 9:00, and I don’t stop voting until 11:00. During that time I am voting with reckless abandon - calling as many times as I can possibly connect within that two-hour time-frame. That is the expectation I set for myself. I would like to think that the rest of the voting public that votes for David Archuleta holds themselves to the same voting standards.

My point is that one must NEVER assume that his or her favored contestant is safe just because that contestant was safe the week before, and the week before that, and the week before that. EVERY week is a new competition, and EVERY WEEK the fans must VOTE for their favored contestant.

WE MUST VOTE EVERY WEEK FOR DAVID, people! We cannotlet what happened to Melinda, Daughtry, Constantine, LaToya, Jennifer, and Tamyra happen to David.

David will do exactly what he has to do to win this season - perform exceptionally well…but equally so, our complacency will effectively end his dream of the title if we let the He’s-Got-This-Thing-In-The-Bag attitude seep into our minds.

I implore everyone to not let that happen.

Enjoy the rest of this season, folks…we’re backing an amazing contestant!

Say cheese once again!  And who’s that girl that can dance!!! Do you’re thang.

Wouldn’t it be cool if David sang this?

Top picks from the fans…”When You Believe,” “Never Too Far,” & “Make It Through The Rain.”  We’ll see.

David Archuleta with Mariah CareyI know what David is singing…but do you? The night before another exciting Tuesday, many people are referring to the song choice being “There’s Got To Be a Way.” An unfamiliar song to even Mariah fans, but are they right? Have a listen!

According to Idol’s Musical Director, Michael Orland says, “One of Orland’s picks to wow Cowell & Co. Tuesday night? None other than Idol’s boy wonder, David Archuleta. “It is so natural,” he says of the 17-year-old fan favorite’s vocal talent.

Will this be another fantastic performance from our David Archuleta?

Update:  Okay to stop confusion, he is NOT singing “There’s Got To Be a Way.”
